Swim for Hope Fundraiser

September 6th, 2019

A 20-mile ocean swim fundraiser
to benefit
St. Barbara Monastery,
Project Mexico
and St. Innocent Orphanage.

Mitch Denny will be kayaking from the U.S. to Mexico in this unique athletic event, accompanying Fr. Simeon Corona, Fr. Demetrios (Executive Director of Project Mexico) and others while they swim from Point Loma to the Mexican South Coronado Island.

Mitch is our monastery's Property Development Manager and is overseeing the building of a new monastery residential addition to house more sisters and pilgrims.

This "Swim for Hope" event is the idea of
Fr. Simeon Corona, pastor of St. Gregory of Nyssa Orthodox Church in El Cajon. He has completed long swims as fundraisers for charitable causes a number of times.

We gladly welcome his offer to undertake this athletic feat on behalf of the monastery Building Fund effort for our new residential addition.

We are also grateful to Mitch Denny for his willingness to participate in Swim for Hope to benefit the monastery.

All donations to support this event and its participants will be divided between St. Barbara Monastery Building Fund and Project Mexico/ St. Innocent Orphanage.

You don't have to be present at the event to participate.

Sponsor Mitch and support the monastery by donating below.

Thank you for your generosity!
